Frenchman Christophe Pourcel is in line for a comeback aboard a Geico Powersports Honda during the 2011 AMA Motocross Championship.
The former Kawasaki man, who was beat to the 250 Class title in the last round by Geico Honda’s Trey Canard when he was injured in the season finale last year, was spotted testing a CRF450R with the team in California today.
With images uploaded both on Vital MX and Transworld MX, both confirmed that a deal hasn’t yet been done, however this is the first real indication that we’ve had of Pourcel’s future.
Pourcel sat out this season’s AMA Supercross season, which has just two rounds remaining, but his desire to race the outdoors has been widely known in recent months.
Last year the Geico Powersports Honda team finished second in the 450 Class of the nationals with Australian Brett Metcalfe, who is now Ryan Dungey’s teammate at Rockstar Makita Suzuki.
