Former Pro Lites Australian Motocross Champion Jake Moss continued to make progress during Raymond Terrace’s third round of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals on Sunday, again easing his way through the round in a bid to gain strength.
Serco Yoshimura Yamaha’s Moss suffered a severe shoulder injury in Germany at the beginning of the year, causing him to miss Broadford’s season opener, but now well and truly on the road to recovery.
In what is his first full season in Australia since he won the title in 2007, Moss took small steps in his recovery earning points in all four motos and challenging the front runners early in most races until his time off the bike took its toll.
“For me, it’s not about results yet,” the talented 22-year-old admitted. “It’s about regaining fitness and speed at a sensible rate and getting the track time to do it.
“I felt better today and came along way in the last week and now with nearly a month break before the next round, hopefully I can keep progressing at the same rate.”
Moss claimed 12th for the round, moving up to 16th in the series with six rounds still remaining this season.
