Reardon and Marmont confident KTM's 350 can contend in 2011

Dan Reardon is back in Australia with JDR Motorex KTM and he wants his Pro Open title back.

JDR Motorex KTM will field a two-man strong Pro Open squad featuring former national champions Dan Reardon and Ryan Marmont when the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals commence at Broadford in Victoria on Sunday.

Heading the JDR squad’s Pro Open line-up utilising the world title-winning KTM 350 SX-F will be Queenslander Reardon and Marmont, who’s the younger brother of defending three-time champion Jay Marmont.

For Reardon, 2011 marks a return home to Australia after competing in the U.S. since he won the title in 2007 and he’s looking to pick up where he left off four years ago.

“My bike’s good, team’s good and everything has come together nicely for the start of the season – I’m excited for this series,” the 25-year-old commented.

“I knew that the JDR team would be a good team for me to join and return to Australia for this year. So far it’s been awesome.”

Marmont will make his anticipated debut in the Pro Open category and he too is confident that he can challenge for victories during the season after a positive pre-season.

“I’m really looking forward to racing the Open class since I’d been in the Lites for a long time and I think that the 350 SX-F is the perfect bike for me to do it on,” Marmont explained.

“I’ve had a good year so far in 2011 so hopefully we can continue that form into Broadford.”

The opening round marks the series’ return to Broadford, the venue where JDR’s Pro Open rider Andrew ‘Sharky’ McFarlane tragically lost his life in May last year.

In memory of McFarlane, the entire JDR team will wear black polo shirts featuring the ‘Sharky’ logo in the pit area throughout the weekend.
