Gobert Media today announced that it will launch a second Australian-based motorcycle website in 2011, revealing its plans to produce CycleOnline.com.au.
After successfully forming MotoOnline.com.au in the domestic motorcycle industry 24 months ago, CycleOnline.com.au will soon become Gobert Media’s one-stop website for on-road Australian motorcycle content.
Since its launch in 2009, MotoOnline.com.au has covered both on- and off-road motorcycling, however it is set to become a dirt bike-only website when CycleOnline.com.au goes live.
“We have had a very successful couple of years with MotoOnline.com.au as it is and I must thank the industry for supporting us and embracing the site,” Gobert Media director Alex Gobert commented.
“But in recent times with the addition of even more genuine content generated by Gobert Media and its partners, we have realised that there is room to improve and expand – the way to achieve that is to offer our content on two separate sites.”
CycleOnline.com.au will be launched in the first half of 2011, featuring all current road content that has been on MotoOnline.com.au and then continuing to expand the company’s coverage of on-road activities.
The site will cover the general lifestyle of motorcycling as well as feature an ever-growing library of bike tests, plus a host of images, films and other multimedia.
Also in the plans is an increase in coverage of Australian road racers competing overseas, which will slot in alongside our domestic-leading Australian Superbike content.
“I believe that having our content separated will enable us to increase our coverage of both disciplines, something I’m really looking forward to in the future.
“Road content will be significantly boosted, while the dirt bike content on MotoOnline.com.au will also majorly expand,” Gobert concluded.
Both MotoOnline.com.au and CycleOnline.com.au will feature identical layouts/functionality, and members of each site will automatically be able to login to the sister site’s community.
Stay tuned for the announcement of CycleOnline.com.au’s yet to be revealed columnists, the website also fielding a project Yamaha YZF-R6 with the Gobert Motorsports Yamaha team that Aaron Gobert will head during 2011.
