Defending AMA Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey is confident he can return to the form that saw him take the Supercross Class title as a rookie last season.
The talented 21-year-old took the series by storm last year for Rockstar Makita Suzuki, this year racing to second at Anaheim and fifth at Phoenix in the opening two rounds.
The Phoenix round saw Dungey fight back to fifth after rounding the first lap in seventh, but he’s adamant that both he and the team aren’t concerned about his early form in his title defence just yet.
“We are in this together, whether they be good nights or those that don’t get you a win,” said Dungey following the Phoenix main event. “We are going right back to work this week and I’m looking forward to LA.”
This season sees Dungey’s team managed by Mike Webb, who takes over from the legendary Roger DeCoster following a dominant past couple of seasons with Dungey.
Dungey now sits third in the title chase behind Ryan Villopoto and James Stewart after two rounds.
