It’s been confirmed that Frenchman Marvin Musquin will have to undergo a knee reconstruction after damaging his ACL at the Bercy Supercross in Paris over a week ago.
Red Bull KTM’s factory rider and reigning MX2 World Champion Musquin underwent an MRI scan for the right knee injury he incurred at Bercy on Friday night, with doctors confirming that surrgery will be required in order to correct the ligament damage.
Marvin injured his knee on the Saturday of the three day SX event in the Paris Bercy Omnisports Arena when he put his right leg down hard during the race.
Doctors said the treatment and therapy that he has had to date means he will be able to undergo the operation sooner than expected, scheduled for 6 December.
After the surgery the French rider will then undergo two weeks of rehabilitation and this will be followed by concentrated physiotherapy and work at home.
The injury has ruled Musquin out of his planned debut in the West Coast regional AMA Supercross Championship, which kicks off at Anaheim in California at the beginning of January.
