The top stars of the Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, converged on Parramatta Stadium today in preparation for Sydney’s sixth round of the championship this weekend.
This Saturday night will see the series enter the penultimate round, with the leading Super X contenders today meeting with members from the Parramatta Eels National Rugby League team.
Triple MX Nationals Champion Jay Marmont was on hand riding alongside brother Ryan, plus Americans PJ Larsen and Mike Alessi, the four of them impressing the NRL players as their home ground was transformed into a full scale Supercross circuit.
“I watch the NRL a lot during their season and get out to a few games down in Wollongong, so it’s good fun to come out here and show the guys from the Eels what we do on the bikes,” CDR Rockstar Energy Yamaha’s Jay Marmont said.
Current Super X points leader Josh Hansen was also on hand conducting interviews with the local press, however his equipment was still in transfer to Sydney.
With a large contingent of national media on hand, the riders were able to launch the finish line double jump as the Eels players watched on from the up-ramp, giving them an up-close look at the Super X riders in action.
Only the start straight and finish line was in place as the press day took place, while Super X track builders worked on piecing together the course throughout the afternoon in what looked to be some of the best soil of the season to date.
Super X will take place this Saturday evening at Parramatta Stadium, with tickets available by clicking the following link at Ticketek.
