The stars of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) will add their autographs to 20 AGV helmets to be auctioned off in support of Suzuki RaceSafe at this Thursday’s Awards Dinner at Crown Palladium.
The helmets will feature as part of a silent auction, and all money raised will go to RaceSafe to ensure they can continue to provide an invaluable trackside medical service.
Monza Imports have kindly donated 10 helmets to the auction, with the International Entertainment Group donating a further 10.
The motorcycle community’s participation in the auction, along with the support of AGV and Monza Imports, will ensure the continued involvement of RaceSafe at 2011 ASBK events.
Monza Imports managing director, John Chiodo, was pleased to be able to support the efforts of RaceSafe.
“We have supported racing since our inception and safety equipment has always been a major part of our product line, allowing us to play an integral role in the development of the products that keep our riders safe,” said Chiodo.
“Through our brands such as AGV, Alpinestars, RST and Dainese we’re able to cover today’s champions on the track, and by supporting RaceSafe we’re pleased to be able to support riders off the track as well.”
International Entertainment Group managing director, Yarrive Konsky thanked the various parties involved in maintaining rider safety at the highest level.
“Without the continued support of Monza Imports, and the motorcycle industry, we would not be able to maintain the level of medical treatment that we are fortunate enough to have provided trackside by RaceSafe,” said Konsky.
“Suzuki have been a major contributor and we acknowledge their continued support. Next to them, the motorcycle industry, including Jill Bancell and valued supporters rally hard and fast to ensure we RaceSafe available to us.”
Perry Morison, general manager, Motorcycles of Suzuki Australia encouraged attending guests to support the cause.
“It’s great to see Monza Imports involved and helping to raise awareness and funds for the team at RaceSafe,” said Morison.
“Over $8000 worth of helmets will be auctioned off on Thursday and it would be great if we could raise that amount or more to ensure the involvement of this vital service.
“RaceSafe is an integral part of motorcycle racing in Australia and ensures riders are confident to compete at the highest level knowing quality medical care is available.”
