Tonight’s Tasmanian round of the Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, will mark the final appearance of world class Americans Kevin Windham and Justin Brayton.

Both currently ranked top five in the AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, Windham and Brayton are determined to bow out of Super X 2010 on top with a win in Launceston this evening.

Windham was able to win on debut at Canberra last weekend with Cougar Bourbon Honda Racing, and says that another win is on the agenda for tonight before he jets back to the U.S.

“I had a blast last weekend and it was an easy decision to come back for another week and race in Tasmania,” said Windham. “The team has looked after me very well and made me feel right at home.

“I’m racing against a few familiar faces but the Australian riders are just as tough to beat and the different race formats really keep things interesting. Hopefully we can head home with another victory tonight.”

Brayton has been incredibly quick in the opening two rounds of the series, taking third in Newcastle and second in Canberra. Judging by those results, another improvement of one position will put the JGR Yamaha rider on the top step of the podium.


“I have had a great time here in Australia this past month and I can’t thank everyone from GAS, Yamaha and CDR Rockstar Yamaha enough,” Brayton said. “The events have been great, the team fantastic and I want to reward everyone with a win this weekend before I go.”

Fellow Americans Josh Hansen, the current series leader, and Mike Alessi will remain in Australia for the entire seven-round series, with Ivan Tedesco set to join them for the Sydney and Brisbane rounds.
