Wet weather is once again set to blow tonight’s third round of the Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship wide open, with the main contenders focussed on ensuring a good haul of points despite the conditions.

With 25 points up for grabs for each and every final in 2010, winning this year’s championship is going to take consistency like never before, a factor highlighted in the wet events.

“There isn’t much I can do about the weather, so I don’t really care,” Pro Open contender Marmont said. “I just get out there and try and do what I normally do and race the track and the conditions as best I can.

“If it’s wet, its wet and we deal with it. If not, then I’m happy to race a fast, dry track and get my CDR Rockstar Yamaha on the podium and fight it out for this championship.”

Right now in Launceston it’s consistently drizzling rain, however heavier rain is predicted for this evening as the night show goes ahead.

One of the key factors heading into tonight’s event will be the lack of whoops, with series organisers Global Action Sports stating that trouble with the soil in Tasmania while constructing the circuit is the reason for the course design change.
