Australian Chad Reed has officially parted ways with the Monster Energy Kawasaki team, confirmed via an announcement yesterday afternoon direct from the United States.
Reed, who posted an image of himself testing a private Honda CRF450R at his home track in Florida on Twitter yesterday, has had a nightmare season in 2010, first derailed by a broken hand and then concluded after he was diagnosed with Epstein Barr Virus.
“Monster Energy Kawasaki would like to thank Chad Reed for being a part of our team for the 2010 AMA Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM Championship and the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Series,” the statement from Kawasaki said.
“Reed was a valuable member of our program scoring one win and multiple podium finishes aboard his Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450F. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
The former dual AMA and World Supercross Champion, plus AMA Motocross Champion, has also separated from longtime apparel sponsor Thor, setting up an all-new Reed for the 2011 season.
