Josh Waters has been released from hospital following his high speed crash at Willow Springs Raceway, Rosamond, California last Wednesday.
The 23-year-old Australian Superbike Champion was preparing for his upcoming U.S. racing debut at this weekend’s Mid-Ohio round of the AMA Pro American Superbike Championship when he crashed, which left him with concussion and a collapsed lung.
Waters’ return to racing will be determined as his recovery progresses however it is expected that he will compete at Laguna Seca’s seventh round on 23-25 July alongside the MotoGP World Championship round at the circuit.
After an impressive test with Rockstar Makita Suzuki at Barber Motorsports Park in mid-June where he clocked the fourth fastest time, the young Victorian received the call up to fill in for an injured Blake Young, on a factory GSX-R1000 Superbike.
