Yamaha Motor Australia has announced that its factory Pro Open Motocorss and Supercross team, CDR Yamaha, has extended its agreement with Rockstar Energy Drink for the next three seasons.
The multi-year deal has come on the back of super successful 2008 and 2009 seasons for the team with Jay Marmont claiming back-to-back Pro Open MX Nationals championships. This is the second term of the CDR/Rockstar relationship and both parties are excited to continue their successful relationship.
“At CDR Yamaha, we pride ourselves on our results, our image and the ability to attract outside sponsors to the motocross market. Rockstar Energy Drink is a vibrant and exciting label in the energy drink market and to have them on board for another three years is something the team is proud of,” said team owner Craig Dack. “We both reflect the same qualities and strive for the same performance so we fit each other like a glove.”
This season also marks the 20th year that CDR Yamaha has been Yamaha’s factory Motocross effort. In that time, the team has racked up countless national Motocross and Supercross championships and the passion to succeed and improve is still as strong today as it was in the formative years.
Driving the team in 2010 is the opportunity to race and develop the YZ450F, the most technologically advanced motocross bike on the market with its reverse intake motor design, tornado style exhaust and completely programmable power delivery.
“CDR just keep finding ways to succeed in racing. From the early days racing two strokes to the cutting edge development of four strokes, CDR just keep winning and promoting the Yamaha brand and its products like GYTR and Yamalube in a professional manner. This 20 year relationship continues to grow every year and we look forward to another 20 with Craig and his team,” commented Yamaha Motorspsort manager Ray Howard.
Monza Imports has also been a long time backer of the CDR Yamaha outfit and will continue in 2010 outfitting the team in quality Fox apparel, Pro Circuit exhausts, SBS brake pads, Easton handlebars and Alpinestars boots.
Team partners for 2010 also include Just Bikes, Dunlop, Oakley, NGK, DID, One Industries, Essendon Ford, Fleetwood Print Group, Vortex, Unifilter, B & B, Goodridge and Etnies.
“It is an exciting time at CDR Rockstar Yamaha,” Dack continued. “Our riders Jay Marmont and Cheyne Boyd are in the prime of their careers, we have an amazing bike to develop in the YZ450F and the popularity of Motocross and Supercross is on a high in Australia. The off-season is almost over and we have worked hard to ensure we have everything in place for another successful year and reward our loyal band of sponsors and team partners.”
Round one of the MX Nationals will be held at Horsham in Victoria on 28 March.
