Rockstar Energy Suzuki team rider Ryan Morais is likely to miss this weekend’s fourth round of the AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, in San Francisco after being injury at Anaheim third round last weekend.
The RM-Z250 rider was running in second place in the qualifier until another rider landed on top of him while attempting to triple the last part of the rhythm section before turn six. He was taken off the track quickly to the Asterisk mobile medical unit and later transported to the nearby UCI Medical Center where he stayed until he was released on Sunday morning.
According to team manager Bill Keefe, Morais is currently at home resting and will be seeing his own physician this week for further evaluation. He is not expected to race in the upcoming San Francisco round, but will likely be back on his bike in time for San Diego.
Australian Jake Moss will spearhead the team’s East Coast Lites Supercross assault when it kicks off next month, the former Aussie MX Nationals champion riding for the first time in California this week after recoring from a broken wrist suffered in October during Super X.
