RIDERS DESCRIPTION OF THE TRACK
The Brisbane circuit was the longest track of the series with a minute-plus lap time

Sand section, two triples and numerous rhythm sections Surface was hard pack, with granitic sand sections.

Rain in the Pro Lite and Open finals proved a huge challenge for many riders.

On Tye Simmonds
“I am extremely proud of Tye’s performance throughout the series,” said Macdonald. “To battle it out with the some of the world’s best racers at just 17 years of age, and carrying quite a significant knee injury proves just how tough, and determined he is to succeed. The Pro Opens format was three, five lap finals with five minutes between each.  We struggled a little with bike set-up but all in all, Tye rode well to keep his Championship result in sight, and placed seventh overall for the night, which cemented him fourth in the series. I am grateful to have spent the Super X Series working with such an awesome athlete, and for Tye to collect fourth overall in the Championship is outstanding. This experience and result means that Tye head’s into next season in the Pro Open class with confidence, and with an awareness of what he is capable of against the more experienced riders.”

On Kade Mosig
“Kade has had an extremely tough season with injury and bad luck, but at Brisbane we saw flashes of the Kade Mosig we all know,” said Macdonald.  “Kade qualified fourth fastest in the Pro Lites field, and was looking to secure his best result for the series. The Pro Lites had three, five lap races with five minutes between each. After a crash in the first turn of moto one Kade worked his way through the field to place eighth. In moto two, he placed a solid fifth, and in moto three he moved from an eighth place in the early stages of the race to sixth. The results secured a sixth overall for the round, which was his best result for the series. Kade has been carrying a knee injury since a crash at the Geelong round, and he missed round three in Perth.  Yet he still secured a top 20 results with 16th overall for the series.  We wish Kade all of the best in his racing for 2010, and hope that next year brings him better luck.”

On Dylan Long
“I am really impressed with Dylan’s racing,” said Macdonald.  “He put in an outstanding performance, and was a cut above the competition.  Dylan chose to step up onto the KTM 250 SX-F for the event, having drawn the Super X Junior Championship just a few weeks ago on board his two stroke KTM 150 SX. Dylan proved his versatility, and was a couple of seconds per lap faster than his competition, and with times comparable to the Pro Lites.”

On Jay Wilson
“The Brisbane round was Jay’s first outing in Supercross, and although he took a couple of tumbles, he put in a solid performance,” said Macdonald. “Jay negotiated practice, and qualifying with caution, and still put in a top three qualifying time heading into the junior finals. After a good start in moto one, he clipped the back wheel of Dylan Long through the stutters, crashing hard but still brought home a top ten finish.  Jay was determined to make amends in race two, and came home with a third place finish to secure fifth overall for the event.”

TYE SIMMONDS – Pro Open Racer
“I felt a bit uncomfortable at the final round of Super X, and it took awhile before I got into the groove,” said Simmonds.  “I decided I could not make the break into the top three points chase, I was to preserve my overall position in the Championship. “Although I wasn’t so happy with a seventh for the round, I am relieved to have made it through the season with my knee injury, and secure such a good result in fourth overall. The result is a great way to finish off the season after my second place in the Pro Lites Motocross Championship earlier in the year. “I really want to thank the whole Motorex KTM Racing Team for all their hard work, and such a great season.”

KADE MOSIG – Pro Lites Racer
“Going into the final round at Brisbane I was really confident with the way I was riding,” said Mosig.  “I had some bad luck in qualifying and race one, and was again feeling so frustrated. I know I have the speed to run up the front in this class, but it just hasn’t come together for me. Even though I got my best result for the season with a sixth place, I still want to achieve more. “I want to thank the Motorex KTM Racing Team and my mechanic Mick Carusi for all of their support this season.”

DYLAN LONG – Junior Racer
“I am really stoked with my results at Brisbane,” said Long. “I think I rode pretty good, although I struggled to get a handle on the stutters in the beginning, because they were pretty tricky. My lap times were decent in the end, and I was really enjoying riding on such a cool track in front of the huge crowd. We did some testing with my KTM 250 SX-F during the week, and the bike was handling sweet, so I was able just to do my thing and enjoy the riding. I was really happy to be standing on the top spot of the podium in Brisbane, and can’t wait to race the two big bikes next season.”

JAY WILSON – Junior Racer
“This was a really good experience for me and I learnt a lot,” said Wilson.  “I would have liked finish better, having qualified so well, but in Supercross there is little room for error, and my crashes in race one really mucked me up for a better result. I’m really looking forward to next season, to get in more Supercross racing.”
