Pirelli riders took fourth ourtright and also the Production class title at the recent 6 Hour race held recently Oran Park in Sydney.
The Dean Evans Revolution Accessories Yamaha R1, with brothers Damian and Alex Cudlin on board and with engine work by Rob Halford of Central Coast Performance, took fourth place outright riding on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC tyres.
With very limited testing begun in the week of the event, the hastily prepared but well equipped team managed an impressive result in its inagural outing at the 6 hour endurance event. Qualifying third, the team persevered through some challenging mechanical issues early in the race that lost valuable time and racing laps.
Both Damian and Alex displayed their professional race craft to almost claw their way on to the podium by the end of this final race at Oran Park circuit.
The Diablo Supercorsa showed its World Supersport developed performance and durability in the high track and air temperatures (close to 40 degrees for most of the day) with an impressive 111 laps being completed on the rear tyre prior to the first tyre change, while the front completed a further two 45 minute sessions before swapping for the final stages of the race.
In the Production Class, Team Green 2 took an emphatic victory for Pirelli and Kawasaki using Diablo Supercorsa SC tyres. Mark Hatch, Jason Kain and Rod Taplin brought their ZX10 home well ahead of the other production machines, and also took fifth outright ahead of 10 of the more more highly modified Superstock machines in the event. Team Green 1 riders Jamie Aitken, Murray Clarke and Michael McMillan finished just outside the top ten after an impressive fightback from a low side crash earlier in the race. The team showed impressive pace over the weekend of qualifying and racing on the Aitkens Motorcycle World prepared Kawasaki ZX10.
