HONDA AUSTRALIA:
Consistent results by Honda’s top Superbike riders in the country have helped the manufacturer to secure the prestigious Australian Superbike Manufacturer’s Cup for 2009 with 944 points to Suzuki’s 892 and Yamaha’s 593.
After a tough seven round national series that saw factory supported riders Glenn Allerton and Wayne Maxwell, as well as a host of privateers take home a solid points haul, Honda was able to walk away with the top honours at this weekend’s final Phillip Island round.
“It’s been a big effort from all the riders, particularly those who fronted for each state round,” said Honda Australia’s General Manager, Motorcycles, Tony Hinton.
“We had a healthy group of CBR1000RRs out there with riders such as Craig Coxhell who won the Privateer’s Cup, as well as Chris Trounson and Jordan Burgess helping to get the overall points on the board for us.”
“Honda congratulates of all these riders on their commitment to the series, and on their outstanding results, and wishes them the best for their goals for the future.”
