OLEON MOTOLOGIC RACING:

Melbourne’s Federation Square came alive yesterday to welcome crowds to the 2009 IVECO MotoGP beginning with a mass ride through the CBD lead by World Champions Wayne
Gardner, Mick Doohan and Oleon Motologic’s own Glenn Allerton.

Allerton rode the Motologic prepared MRP blade which then attracted great attention at the Motologic display in the Federation Square Forecourt. Crowds gathered in the forecourt to
catch a glimpse of just a few of those riders who will be taking to the track at the Worldrenowned Phillip Island circuit for the MotoGP this coming weekend.

One such rider is non-other than the man leading the 250 Grand Prix World Championship, Hiroshi Aoyama. Prior to making his way to the Island for the event, Aoyama san took time out for an interview at Federation Square much to the delight of the crowd.

Aoyama san also took a moment to visit the Motologic display and have a chat to the leading Australian Superbike team! Oleon Motologic Racing welcomed the fellow Honda rider and we wish him all the best in defending his lead in the 250 Grand Prix Championship.

This year, the MotoGP will also form Round 6 of the Australian Superbike Championship and with the gap in points so fine between defending champion Glenn Allerton and Suzuki’s Josh Waters the racing should be very entertaining for spectators. Wayne Maxwell of Oleon Motologic Racing is himself not far behind Waters in third and will be looking to trade places with the Suzuki rider.

The points as they stand going into the 6th round of the Australian Championship see Glenn Allerton on 217 with Suzuki’s Josh Waters on 206 and Wayne Maxwell on 198.

Allerton is quietly confident going into the pen-ultimate round.

“I am feeling good for Round 6, my fitness is back at 100% after a niggling back problem and my focus couldn’t be better. The team at Motologic have got the bike set-up possibly the best it has been all year and I’m ready to defend my lead in the championship!”

Team mate Wayne Maxwell is looking to take the second placing in the championship from Waters this weekend with a determination that has not wavered.

“The points difference between Josh and me is only 8 points and I am feeling very comfortable on the bike. The team is well prepared going into round 6 and I myself feel confident I can put in some consistently fast lap times to stay ahead of Waters and move into second place in the championship.”

The 2009 IVECO MotoGP will be held this weekend 15th-18th October at Phillip Island. With the weather set to clear and with a host of Australian and World champions battling it out at a World Class circuit, it will an exhilarating weekend for all. Make sure you are there!
