Oz MX: Qualifying and racing underway at Junior Nationals

MOTORCYCLING AUSTRALIA:

Racing and qualifying is now well underway at the 2009 Honda Australian Junior Motocross Championship, with 24 sessions completed riders have now settled into the Newry Motocross Complex track.

The sun finally made an appearance out at the track as the business of racing began with several riders blitzing the field including New Zealand rider, Courtney Duncan.

Duncan raced in both the 85cc 2 stroke 12 to under 14 years and female 85cc/150cc 12 to under 16 years classes, finishing a whopping 51 seconds ahead of second place in the female class and wrapped up her one of the qualifying heats in second place.

Another stand out on the day was American import Kyle Peters, who stormed home in his 200-250cc four stroke 15 years heat.

Racing and qualifying will continue on Wednesday and with an expected top of 24 degrees, participants are looking forward to more sunshine on the way.

Spectators are welcome to attend and check out all the action and best of all, entry is completely free!
