WSBK: Davies to partner McCoy at Triumph in final WSS races

TRIUMPH BE1 RACING:

ParkinGO Triumph BE1 Racing and Chaz Davies have signed an agreement that foresees his commitment at the last three races of the World Super Sport Championship at: Imola, Magny Cours and Portimao.

Despite his 22 years Chaz has already been racing at world level and is a promising prospect for ParkinGO Triumph BE1 Racing. Chaz has just completed the AMA Sportbike Championship with the official Aprilia Team during which he yielded various podiums.

Today in Mugello saw the start of a new adventure for Chaz when he tried out the BE1 prepared Triumph Daytona 675 which he was very impressed with.

Chaz Davies – Rider: “I would like to thank Giuliano and the team for this opportunity. This is my first chance to ride in the WSS Championship and I am excited to experience it and give it my best shot. I’ve watched ParkinGO Triumph BE1 Racing Team’s results progress and I think that between the team and myself we can aim for strong results on the three cylinder Triumph.”

Giuliano Rovelli – Team Manager: “Last year we came really close to signing a deal with Chaz Davies. Today I am proud to have a British rider of his stature in the seat of the Triumph Daytona 675. Despite his youth he is a very experienced rider and I feel certain that he will fully express the potential of our bike, an equal match for Garry McCoy.”

Chaz Davies – highlights

Born on 10th February 1987 in Wales, he ran his first race in 1999.

He was the youngest rider to participate in a British 125 GP.

2002 Dorna place Chaz with Team Matteoni to compete in the 125cc Grand Prix World Championship making Chaz the youngest ever rider to compete in a full season of Grand Prix racing.

2003-2006 competed in the 250cc World Championship scoring multiple top ten finishes aboard a “kit†Aprilia including one top 5 result.

End of 2006 transfers to USA to begin riding four-strokes in the AMA Supersport Championship.

Following his successful debut he returned to compete in the full AMA season scoring numerous podiums.

At Laguna Seca Chaz substituted for the injured Alex Hoffman and after a successful debut with the MotoGP bike he was asked to complete the season.

2008 saw him in the seat of a Kawasaki, winning the Daytona 200.

2009 signed for the Aprilia Factory Team to compete in the Sportbike category again standing on the podium on numerous occasions.

Recent
