Just two weeks after the last round at Donington, most of the World Superbike and Supersport teams will reach the remodeled Imola circuit to participate in an official two-day test session from 15th to 16th July.

Jason O’Halloran will join the Honda Althea Team for Imola test and the young Australian Superbike star will be team-mate to another Aussie rider Mark Aitchison. The 22-year old began racing in 2002 and success soon followed, finishing runner-up in the 125cc Australian Championship a year later. He soon progressed into the Australian Supersport Championship, and he dominated the 2007 series, taking 7 race wins and 3 lap records.

In the same year he replaced the injured countryman Kevin Curtain in World Supersport finishing a highly creditable 12th at the Czech Republic round at Brno. In 2008 Jason competed in the Australian Superbike Championship and in his debut season on Superbike machinery, he set a new lap record at Phillip Island. In addition, he impressed at the Suzuki 8-Hours, where he finished 6th on the Moriwaki-backed machine alongside Cal Crutchlow and Tetsuya Yamaguchi.

This year he participated at the British Superbike Championship reaching some good results also in such a difficult championship.

Jason O’Halloran : “First of all I’d like to thank everyone at Althea Honda for giving me this opportunity and my manager Terrell Thien for making it possible to ride at the Imola test. I am really looking forward to the challenge ahead, the World Supersport championship, that’s one of the toughest closely fought championships in the world and I cannot wait to get amongst the action in Imola. I am looking forward to working with the Honda Althea team and will be trying 110%. Imola will be a new circuit for me but I am up for the challenge and hopefully by the end of the two days testing we will be in a competitive position”.

Genesio Bevilacqua – Team General Director :“We’ve been following Jason’s progress this year in The British Superbike Championship and he’s really impressed us. We’re convinced that his riding style will suit our Honda CBR 600 RR. He’s a very good rider and for being only 22 years old he has a wealth of experience on both Superbike and Supersport machines already. In British Superbike Jason proved to have lots of talent and is very professional despite his youthful age. We are eager to see him riding our Supersport bike”.
