MX Sports Pro Racing:
After last seasons history making night race, Thunder Valley Motocross returns for another nighttime running, hosting round five of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. The nighttime race, along with an elevation of 6,100 feet makes the track one of the most unique venues on the circuit, and a true challenge for the world’s best riders.
Without the help of lighting giant Musco, the Toyota AMA Pro Motocross National would not be possible. Last season, a remarkable seven lighting trucks were strategically placed throughout the sprawling mountainside facility to provide the necessary luminosity for the 1 ½ mile circuit layout. For 2009, track promoter David Clabaugh has enlisted the use of an additional pair of Musco trucks to ensure that every inch of the layout is properly lit, making for ideal racing conditions.
“Competition is of the utmost importance,” explained Clabaugh. “I want to be sure that there are no gaps or dimly lit areas on any portion of this track. We are now using a total of nine Musco lighting truck and I feel very confident that come Saturday, June 27, this place will be bright and the racing will be outstanding.”
The track, which is known as a great venue for the fans, has dramatically improved the viewing areas, providing more comfortable accommodations on the hillside and bringing back the popular Jumbotrons that help fans see every bit of the on-track action. An extended VIP section will provide premier viewing and amenities, making it the place to be for when the gates drop.
