Spaniard Alvaro Bautista has been offered a contract with the factory Rizla Suzuki MotoGP team for the 2010 MotoGP World Championship according to various European media sources.

The 2006 125cc Grand Prix World Champion has been targeted by Paul Denning’s British-run team, set to replace either Loris Capirossi or Australian Chris Vermeulen if he can come to an agreement.

At 24 years of age, Bautista would be a fresh prospect for Suzuki, but the deadline to sign the contract is rapidly approaching as the offer is believed to be removed at next weekend’s Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona.

If Bautista does in fact join Suzuki, he will reportedly be the only rookie in the premier class for next year who has a factory contract as Suzuki has been exempted from the ruling to be introduced that won’t allow rookies to immediately join a factory MotoGP team – an exemption that is in place due to Suzuki not having satellite bikes on the grid.
