Following a dramatic introduction to Superpole that saw Kevin Curtain score pole position for the Kawasaki Racing Team at the third round of the Woodstock Bourbon Australian Superbike Championship at Queensland Raceway, promoters International Entertainment Group have announced that it will remain for the rest of 2009.
The Superpole session, which saw the top riders go out one by one for a single flying lap in order to determine their grid positions, will be a mainstay in the series, adding excitement to Saturday qualifying after proving a spectacle for the fans live at the circuit.
Although there was the single flying lap Superpole at Queensland Raceway, it isn’t finalised whether or not the series will continue with that Superpole format or if they will switch to the knock out format that was introduced in World Superbike this year.
