Australian Karl Muggeridge took a fantastic double race victory in IDM German Superbike Championship at the Nürburgring on Sunday, his second clean sweep of the season.
The Holzhauer Racing Promotion Honda rider was the dominant force in the round with a pair of wins ahead of Team Alpha Technik BMW rider Werner Daemen, while KTM’s Stefan Nebel took third in the opening race and Barry Veneman rounded out the race two podium.
“The bike worked really good today, we had very windy conditions and it was hard to push my own wind, but I managed to keep the gap,” 36-year-old Muggeridge explained.
“I’m pretty happy with the results today and once again we were really, really lucky with the weather that we were able to have two dry races.”
Honda RT Motorsports rider Gareth Jones was second best of the Australian contingent with a pair of ninth place finishes for the round. Victorian teammate Jed Metcher finished with 18-19 results for the round.
In Supersport, Damian Cudlin finished fourth for the round, slipping to second in the championship.
